There are many brands of high blood pressure medications out there, and each brand is placed in a class. Reguardless of the subclass, all of these medications are known as anti-hypertensive medications. Each class does have its own subcategory. The type of medicaiton you are placed on is determined by the type of high-blood pressure you have. The types that are typically used are diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor blockers, calcium channel blockers, alpha-2 receptor agonist, combined alpha and beta- blockers, central agonists, peripheral adrenergic inhibitors.

Under each of these main types of medications, are the sub classes. These are divided by symptoms of blood pressure. This helps target the symptoms that are causing issues, and helps the doctor determine which medication is right for you.

Since each medicaiton has it’s own purpose, you may be changed from one medication to another a few times before most or all of your symptoms are resolved.

It is very important to tell your doctor about all medications that you are taking, including over the counter medications and vitamins. These may have an effect on the way that the medication works.

As always, it is important to follow all instructions that are given to avoid any side effects from the medication.

There are some embarrassing medical ailments out there that may make for great studio laughs but can be dangerous – if you’ve got any of these, talk to your doctor.
Excessive Gas – Sure the lovable dad on sitcoms always burps too loudly but what if it’s a constant thing? It’s less funny when this gas is related to a stomach ulcer or even hypertension so see a doctor to find out if you need a prescription.
Loss of Hearing – It’s hilarious when characters on TV get exasperated with each other not being able to hear but if you or your spouse is having a harder time hearing you may want to get a hearing test and find out if you need a hearing aid or some other type of hearing implement.
Snoring – Akin to gas, snoring can be a sign of sleep apnea which can actually be dangerous. Talk to a doctor as soon as possible.

Diabetes can be a preventable disease. It is not necessary to take a laundry list of prescription medications to stave off the onset of diabetes. In fact, a few lifestyle choices can help a person live a long healthy life without ever developing the disease.

One of the most important factors in preventing diabetes is managing one’s weight. This can be achieved by eating a sensible diet rich in vitamins and minerals. Eating lots of raw fruits and veggies is a delicious way to get the nutrition the body needs. It is also helpful to limit the amount of red meat in the diet. It is okay to indulge in a juicy steak occasionally, but when possible, opt for grilled or broiled fish or chicken.

Exercise is another very important detail in maintaining a healthy weight. Regular exercise also promotes a healthy heart. Because diabetes affects the kidneys, it is imperative kidney health is monitored closely. Sugary drinks, especially sodas, should be avoided.

Start taking natural supplements like dandelion root. These can be found in most department stores and promote healthy kidney function. Skip the salt and flavor foods with onion and garlic. Both vegetables are great for lowering blood sugar levels.

For breakfast, you should consider adding some berries as well as dried fruit to your cereal. If you love bagels, you should try adding some chopped peppers and carrots to your cream cheese.
For lunch, there are some things that you could add to your diet while you are breast feeding. You can try adding some beans and peas to a salad for either lunch or for dinner. Eating and staying healthy while you are breastfeeding is very important for your baby and yourself as well.
If you like, you can also cut up some vegetables that are ready in the refrigerator. You have the choice to either eat them raw or dip them into some type of salad dressing. If you ever eat at Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks, you should always consider trying the bran muffins instead of the donuts. This will have a big impact on the health of your baby. You should always remember that drinking water is very important during this time, even if you are not thirsty. Eating many fruits and vegetables will definitely impact you greatly while you are breastfeeding. The hits keep comin’: Colour me beautiful…because I’m worth it… (on a budget)

Pregnancy is a wonderful time for most women. However, there are many women who are concerned about keeping themselves and their babies healthy during pregnancy. The key to staying healthy during pregnancy is to consult with a doctor early on and eat a healthy diet. It is important for women to remember that everything that they take into their bodies also affects the baby. That is why they should be very mindful and avoid some of the foods that can potentially harm their growing baby.Want more? Click here/tag Deli meat, fish that has high levels of mercury and raw meat are not good for a growing fetus and should be avoided.

Pregnant women can make sure that they get the proper nutrients by eating plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meat and whole-grain foods. Those foods can help keep mom and baby healthy throughout the entire pregnancy. Many women use being pregnant as an excuse to overindulge, but this should be avoided. Overeating during pregnancy can lead to excessive weight gain, which can lead to many other health problems. It is important to note that women only need 300 extra calories per day while they are pregnant, so they should make sure that they consume no more than 2500 calories per day.
